Join us Friday, May 2 from 1:30 to 6:00 p.m. as the Department of Materials Science and Engineering hosts MSE Day on the campus of The Ohio State University. High school juniors and sophomores, and two adult guests, are invited to attend an afternoon of exploration into the field of materials science and engineering!

Events will include:

  • An overview of the field of Materials Science and Engineering
    • the major at OSU
    • specializations in the major
    • internships and co-ops
    • careers
  • Materials Science related demonstrations
  • Scholarship competition worth $1000 towards tuition at OSU*
  • Meeting with current MSE students
  • Meeting with MSE faculty
  • OSU admissions, financial aid, and scholarship information
  • Tour of the MSE department
  • Pizza gathering with faculty and students -- ending at approximately 6:00 p.m.

Registration:

There is no cost for this event, but seating is limited. Please reserve your spot by registering on-line. Link to the College of Engineering web registration site.

 

 

*Two $1000 scholarships will be offered to students who show excellence in critical thinking skills by answering an essay question that presents a materials science problem.  The two winners of these scholarships are guaranteed $1000 during their first year, should they choose to major in Materials Science and Engineering at The Ohio State University.
