A glass capillary microelectrochemical cell drawn to a diameter of about 30 microns. The microcell is mounted on the carousel of an optical microscope so that it can be precisely positioned on a preselected location on the sample surface. With this technique it is possible to resolve the electrochemical characteristics of an alloy at microstructural length scales.
